I'm an Assistant Professor of Library Science at East Carolina University, where I also serve as Associate Director of the ECU Community Archives Lab and Faculty Affiliate of the ECU Rural Education Institute. I hold degrees in Information Studies (PhD, MSLIS, BS), Women's and Gender Studies (CAS), and Music History and Cultures (BA) from Syracuse University.

My research broadly examines how bibliographical artifacts and preservation infrastructures mediate the production of cultural memory and performances of pastmaking, with an emphasis on elucidating the informational dynamics of cultural destruction. I explore these frameworks in my forthcoming monograph, The Harms of Epistemicide: Principles and Practices of Confronting and Resisting Knowledge Destruction (Library Juice Press).

My award-winning interdisciplinary scholarship in the field of cultural heritage informatics advances reparative frameworks for memory-activism which promote culturally-responsive librarianship, archival and cultural heritage preservation, and critical theory development useful for the information profession.
